Kessler is built from the same old-growth oak as the frames it sits beside, joined at each corner with a single exposed mortise-and-tenon rather than hidden fasteners.

The top is cut from one board where the grain allows, so the surface reads as a continuous piece of wood rather than several boards glued edge to edge.
